Lumber "Jack" & "Jill" Lessons

The Great Maine Lumberjack Show is proud to provide adventurers of ALL ages with the exciting opportunity to learn a few of the events seen in our Show! Learn Log Rolling, Cross Cut Sawing and Axe Throwing – just like the professionals you see competing on ESPN. All of these sports are fun to learn and safe while being taught by our professional instructors.

Taking these lessons is truly a “Once In A Lifetime” experience. We offer two (2) different lessons that we feel will meet the needs of everyone who is interested in learning logging sports, whether they just want to ‘Get Their Feet Wet’ or ‘Sink An Ax Into It’

We will provide professional instruction and all of the necessary equipment and safety gear. You’ll need to bring bathing suits/swim attire, flat bottom tennis shoes/swim socks, a towel and your camera!  Lessons are one hour long and are for up to six (6) people but we can accommodate more, just call! 

Choose from the following two lessons:

$75/hour for a group of up to 5, $15.00 per person after 5 people! We are happy to teach a party of 1 or 50!  This course offers an opportunity to try the unique, historical & fun sport of log rolling! It is great for all ages and very safe for everyone… the log rolling tank is only 3 feet deep and the instructor is not only professional & attentive but really fun too!! Log rolling is a favorite for all, especially for the young at heart! Our coaches hold the log in place while the students get their balance, while giving proper instruction that includes balancing, weight distribution, foot and arm movements, etc. The one hour lesson gives the students plenty of time to spend on technique, skill and give them a REALLY INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!

$80/hour for up to 5 people, it is $15.00 per person after that!  Enjoy a private Lesson or bring all of your friends! This course includes all the same instruction as 'The Log Roller' with the added bonus of learning how to Crosscut Saw and Axe Throw! Our professional staff of Lumberjacks will provide instruction on proper technique in all three events. Once you sink that axe into the target and hear the ring of the saw through the wood... you just may be hooked for life! This is one experience you don't want to leave Maine without!
